PLOTINO, I CANNIBALI, I JEANS e la crisi della letteratura oggi di Aldo Nove

Vengo da una città in cui la letteratura costituisce il tessuto con cui si trama l’abitare. L’abitare urbano è dato da uno spaesamento, quello che colloca l’individuo all’interno di un flusso di informazioni che ha di fatto superato la soglia della comprensione. Abitare a Milano vuol dire continuare a leggere ogni spazio possibile, ogni spazio è messo in vendita per dare informazioni e ogni informazione mette in vendita spazio in cui alla fine abitiamo. In questo corto circuito perfettamente funzionante, stabilizzato nella pratica della dissipazione, le storie individuali, le cosiddette storie, i cosiddetti individui, diventano funzioni di linguaggio. A parlare è la città ma la città non esiste più. Scriveva, alla fine degli Anni Settanta, Milo De Angelis: “Ora è la città che aziona il mio respiro”. Ma il respiro dell’individuo era ancora concepito come altro da quello della città, erano due termini fissati in una relazione che non è più data perché superata da un’identità di tipo protoidealistico. Plotino rimesso in circuito dall’apparato teorico della pubblicità Diesel potrebbe essere oggi il teorico di un essere forte, fortissimo, di una nuova ontologia in cui il linguaggio annulla le differenze e le fissa nell’uguaglianza di un discorso che non prevede interruzioni, capitoli, glosse, chiusure, strappi, resistenze. Tutto parla e tutto significa e, come nell’esperienza mistica, tutto non c’è, non è. La mistica negativa, penso a Eckhart, non distingue, non vuole e non può distinguere tra tutto e nulla, tra dio e non dio. Ed è una mistica di questo genere a sorreggere la mia, come quella di tutti, quiescenza di fronte all’incamerazione del messaggio “bevi urina” usato per vendere dei pantaloni quando aspetto la metropolitana al mattino. Il tessuto urbano, la sua geografia mentale, non prevede il silenzio, la pagina bianca. Tutto è scritto. Chi provasse a prendere il metrò a Milano alle sei e mezzo del mattino, in un giorno in cui non ci fosse sciopero, e alzasse lo sguardo dal proprio giornale, si accorgerebbe che tutti gli altri stanno leggendo, e che se alzano gli occhi dal loro giornale, come voi state facendo, vedrebbero voi che leggete il giornale, un “voi” indistinto dove l’attore è il linguaggio che crea lo spostamento da un luogo che non c’è se non fisicamente, e quella resistenza fisica è la causa del dolore, quella resistenza fisica (il fatto che ci siano dei corpi in un luogo che ti trasporta in un altro, delle scale, delle sedie, degli odori: voi) è il dispositivo che crea lo sprofondamento nel linguaggio. Dal linguaggio collettivo dei messaggi pubblicitari, landscape vago e terrificante, all’abitazione fittizia del giornale che delimita l’esperienza di linguaggio in una postura di individualità, in una prossemica del flusso. Io leggo il mio giornale, tu leggi il tuo giornale. Il soggetto è mantenuto dall’esplicitazione dell’atto di chi consuma il linguaggio, dalla sua pratica solitaria ed evidente. Sto leggendo vuole dire “mi escludo”. Ma l’esclusione corale è l’integrazione finale nel luogo astratto della letteratura incarnata.
Un’industria del “divertimento”, della distrazione, si assume allora a statuto fortissimo, a presidio urbano delle menti nell’indistinzione delle fonti. Ogni superficie è supporto alla globalizzazione letteraria. Dai muri in cui la retorica del prodotto sfida le prove più estreme dell’avanguardia (per accettare le convenzioni letterarie che portano alla comprensione, alla metabolizzazione del messaggio “drink urine” legato a un paio di jeans bisogna essere, anche se inconsciamente, dei teorici del linguaggio, degli scafati esperti di semantica, bisogna avere dentro de Saussure e Barthes, magari senza averne nemmeno mai sentito nominare il nome, magari senza avere nessun titolo di studio) fino al corpo come residuo ultimo da utilizzare per entrare nella globalizzazione letteraria (il piercing, il tatuaggio, le pratiche estreme come il tongue splitting, lungi dall’essere forme di protesta, sono incarnazioni estreme dell’uniformazione al tutto significante) esprimono il circuito di significazione pneumatica da cui non è dato uscire. Sapere tutto, contemporaneamente, di tutto, equivale a non sapere niente. Se accendo la televisione e nel giro di pochi secondi vengo informato di una strage causata da un depresso che si sovrappone a un’incomprensibile questione di fallimento di una delle più grosse aziende italiane che si sovrappone a una sequenza di pubblicità che si sovrappone a delle immagini commentate su degli scafisti morti crea un tale sovraccarico di notizie da rendermi indifferente a quello che resta pur sempre “un programma” che non finisce certo con l’atto di spegnere la televisione ma continua ininterrottamente e ci abita. Due celebri versi di Valerio Magrelli dicevano “Il mio cervello mi abita / come un tranquillo possidente le sue terre”. Anche qui, siamo negli anni Ottanta, e lo stesso scarto presente nei prima citati versi di Milo De Angelis ci dà l’inattualità del messaggio. Ci sono un “io” e un cervello, per di più “mio”, che recuperano la figura del soggetto, per quanto problematizzata da un’invasione (quella del cervello) sempre però risolta all’interno di un’unità (quella aristotelica di corpo e mente, in contrapposizione a quella platonica che separa l’anima, l’”io”, dal corpo e dalle sue funzioni, cervello compreso). La melassa uniforme in cui oggi ci troviamo, quella che Tommaso Ottonieri definiva “la plastica della lingua”, non permette tali distinzioni. A differenza di solo una decina di anni fa, è crollata qualunque distinzione tra forme della letteratura, in un flusso unico di informazioni uniformi quanto innocue nel dettaglio quanto deleterie, esiziali nel tutto a cui appartengono. Vorrei porre l’attenzione tra due differenti casi letterari italiani, per alcuni versi simili e per altri diametralmente opposti. Sono Destroy di Isabella Santacroce e Cento colpi di spazzola di Melissa P. Il primo è stato un caso letterario nel 1997, il secondo lo scorso anno e tutt’oggi. Cento colpi di spazzola è lo svuotamento di Destroy. È l’uniformazione della trasgressione nell’integrazione definitiva nel tessuto in cui si trama l’abitare globale. Una non letteratura che sedicenti critici militanti, al servizio del padrone di turno, “tengono ferma” perché funzionale al congelamento, quello sì militante, dei ruoli. La letteratura, insomma, oggi in Italia, ha perso qualunque funzione di denuncia, di diversità in atto. Rispetto a solo dieci anni fa dicevo. Il fenomeno della “letteratura cannibale”, nella sua complessa resa pubblicitaria, nel confondersi di marketing e ricerca che l’ha portata alla ribalta per poi annientarla, è stato l’ultimo residuo di un’opposizione. Atto quanto mai antico. Io scrivo per dire qualcosa. Qualcosa non è tutto. È fuori dal borbottio che mi, ci sommerge quiescienti. La violenza dei testi “cannibali” era tutta nella mimesi all’interno di una realtà che la letteratura italiana non aveva mai preso in considerazione, una realtà che negli ultimi vent’anni è mutata per sempre, una realtà che ha visto la letteratura “vincere” in ogni campo diventando essa stessa sostituto della realtà attraverso infinite forme (l’ultima, è quella del blog, moda impossibile di un virtuale diario online già completamente soggetto a una retorica di genere che ne fa, notava Tiziano Scarpa in un suo intervento di qualche mese fa, letteratura di bassissimo livello). Oggi la tendenza è super restauratrice, di una nuova forma di restaurazione. Un neoconservatorismo che non ha nulla a che fare con la tradizione. Si restaura l’immediato presente, la sua forma di “gazzettiere”, per dirla alla Leopardi, per disattivare qualunque forma di espressione voglia sottrarsi al chiacchericcio dei media magari deformandone grottescamente il tono, inscenandolo.
